Uncommon Class

Prime Attribute: Constitution

Hit Dice: 1d6+1 HP per level through Level 9. +2 HP each level thereafter.

Armor: Any in human form, none in beast form.

Weapons: Any in human form, natural weapons only in beast form

Class Features (Human Form)

Instinctive Wariness: While in human form, the character cannot be surprised and cannot be back-stabbed.

Serpent King’s Slave: While in human form, the character may not use Luck to resist the mind control powers of Serpent Men.

Weak Damage Resistance: Roll a separate Hit Point total for the human form. While in this form, the character has 1d6 HP at level 1-4, 2d6 HP at level 5-9, and 3d6 HP at Level 10. Each level beyond 10 adds +1 HP.

Class Features (Beast Form)

Animal Vitality: The character uses their full Hit Dice (1d6+1 HP/level up to 9, +2 hp/level thereafter). This total is tracked separately from their Human form’s HP.

Changing Form

In non-combat situations, the character’s chance to voluntarily change into beast form is 10% per level. This roll may be attempted once per turn.

In stressful situations such as combat (or immediately before), this chance is increased to 20% per level, and the check may be attempted once each round.

If the character suffers damage while in human form, a check MUST be made to see whether the character changes involuntarily. This check is made at the usual chance +25%.

Reverting to human form takes the same number of rounds that the character spent in beast form.

Inhuman Senses: While in Beast form, the character cannot be surprised or back-stabbed. In addition, they gain the Uncanny Awareness Secret Art, and have a +3 bonus to their rolls using it.

Mighty Leap: The character can make superhuman leaps of up to 50’ from a standing start while in Beast form.

Natural Armor: While in Beast form, the character has scales, fur, or other natural protection. The effectiveness of this armor advances with level. When the character changes to Beast form, they burst out of any armor they are wearing and drop any shield carried.

Natural Weapons: The character has claw and bite attacks while in Beast form. The effectiveness of these weapons advances as the character gains levels. While in Beast form, the character may not use other weapons, and will automatically drop any they are holding.

Unconquered Beast: while in Beast form the character is completely immune to Serpent Men mental control.
